Louise is a member of Sandwell Green Party, and volunteers as their External Communications Coordinator. She is also the Regional Communications Lead for the West Midlands.

Louise says: “I meet regularly with our two elected Green councillors in Bearwood and have delivered media training for target candidates, co-designed with my Sandwell colleague Hasan Salim Patel.

“I’ve also designed crisis comms as and when required at regional level, and offer guidance to a network of local officers on press releases, social media management, website design, manifesto/policy creation, and membership communications.

“The aim is to achieve a consistent 'voice' across Green Party regional comms, adhering to GPEW brand guidance and following best practice on clarity, tone, and when and how to engage with wider media.

Background

Louise brings 30 years' experience in communications, gained across a career spanning regional print journalism, PR, copywriting, digital marketing and membership communications.

She’s designed budget messaging and crisis comms strategy for Birmingham City Council’s previous Labour leadership, and delivered for clients across the public, private and third sectors.

Louise adds: “I joined the Green Party because I am concerned about the rise of Reform, about climate change, about giving the underrepresented a voice, and about achieving a decent standard of living for our most deprived communities. Social justice is at the heart of good journalism, and it runs through me like a stick of rock.

“I have greatly enjoyed getting to know my new Sandwell friends, and am hoping to contribute further to regional operations. We need to grow our membership, get more Greens elected, and bring real hope and real change back into society.”
